Army veteran Miles Alexander is taking on Florida’s most urgent housing challenges.
Miles Alexander III’s work in workforce and affordable housing continues to gain recognition for its mission-driven approach to community development. In a recent Florida Trend feature, “Mission BUILT,” Alexander discusses his journey from Army veteran and self-taught builder to founder, principal, and managing partner of Alexander Goshen, a real estate development firm focused on workforce and affordable housing across Florida and beyond. One of the projects highlighted in the article is the Tomlinson Workforce Housing Project in St. Petersburg, a public-private partnership with the local school district designed to provide attainable housing for teachers and district staff. The adaptive reuse development will transform an old school site into a 14-story, 264-unit residential community, offering a model for how underutilized public assets can be reimagined to meet urgent housing needs. Alexander describes the project as an example of the collaborative, community-centered development that drives his firm’s work, with the goal of creating well-designed housing in neighborhoods where affordability and accessibility are increasingly difficult to achieve. The Florida Trend article also highlights Alexander Goshen’s broader commitment to impact development, including workforce housing, mixed-income communities, and innovative neighborhood concepts that prioritize long-term community benefit.
