Alexander Goshen, a Fort Lauderdale-based development firm, has announced a strategic partnership with an affiliate of national multifamily investor Avanti Residential to develop Walden Pond, a new mixed-income multifamily community in New Port Richey, Florida. The $30 million project is expected to break ground in the first quarter of 2026, pending final permitting and approvals from local authorities.

Alexander Goshen continues to expand its impact in Florida’s workforce and mixed-income housing market through its partnership with Avanti Residential on the Walden Pond multifamily development near Tampa. As highlighted by Multifamily Press, Walden Pond is a planned $30 million mixed-income community in New Port Richey, Florida, designed to bring 125 thoughtfully planned rental apartments to a growing Tampa Bay submarket in need of quality attainable housing. The development is expected to break ground in the first quarter of 2026, pending final permitting and local approvals, and will be located on nearly nine acres just west of U.S. Highway 19 on the site of a former mobile home park. The project will include a mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units, making it accessible to a range of residents and household needs. With three four-story residential buildings, ground-level parking, flood-resilient design features, and amenities such as a dog park, pickleball court, children’s playground, and landscaped open spaces, Walden Pond reflects Alexander Goshen’s commitment to building resilient, community-centered housing that supports long-term neighborhood growth. The project also demonstrates the value of strong public-private collaboration, with financing expected through HUD and other state and local sources, while Avanti Residential brings additional experience in affordable and workforce housing development, LIHTC financing, and innovative capital structuring. For Miles Alexander III and Alexander Goshen, Walden Pond represents another step toward addressing Florida’s housing needs through sustainable, well-designed multifamily communities that serve working families and strengthen local economies.
